The therapeutic science program accepts applications throughout the year. The deadline for priority applicant status for fall semester admission is December 1.
Steps to Apply
- Review the eligibility requirements, including information for international students.
- Review the technical standards.
- Gather the following information before beginning your online application:
Statement of Professional Goals
Prepare a statement (300 words or less) of academic interests and professional goals. This statement should describe how graduate education at the doctoral level will help you achieve your career goals.
Statement of Research Interests
Briefly (2-3 paragraphs) describe research interests and how they align with expertise of faculty in the therapeutic science program. We encourage applicants to contact faculty prior to applying to the program.
Curriculum Vitae or Resume
The CV or resume must be up-to-date and include information on your educational, professional and research background. Please include as much of the following information as possible:
- Research experience/publications/abstracts.
- Awards and honors.
- Leadership roles.
- Professional presentations.
- Teaching/mentoring experience.
References
When you apply online, you will enter the names and contact information (including email addresses) of three individuals. The system will then prompt each person to submit the reference online. The Slate application system will then prompt each person to submit the reference online.
A reference should be a faculty member, advisor, employer or another person familiar with your work and character. Please verify each reference is willing to submit this electronically.
Transcripts
Arrange to have one official copy of each transcript from every college and university attended sent directly to KU Medical Center. If the institution provides electronic transcripts, please have them sent to OTtranscripts@kumc.edu. If using the National Student Clearinghouse to provide official transcripts to KU electronically, please do not select "University of Kansas" as the destination. Use this email address instead.

Please submit your completed application and pay the application fee. The application fee is paid when you click SUBMIT from the online application. Applicants can pay by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or by electronic check. U.S. banks only. Application fees are non-refundable. Electronic checks will be held for approximately six business days while the check clears.
