Costs, Financial Aid and Scholarships
Here's what you can expect for program costs and opportunities for financial aid during your time in the Ph.D. in therapeutic science program.
You'll find that the cost of an education at the University of Kansas is competitive with other top multidisciplinary research doctoral programs.
The department may have teaching assistantships or stipends available for incoming students, though the availability varies from year to year. If you are interested in the possibility of obtaining an assistantship, please request a meeting with the department chair. Domestic or international students are also eligible for employment on campus to help offset the cost of education.
The amounts listed below are based on the KU Comprehensive Fee Schedule. This is provided as a guide only and is not an official quote of costs. All figures are subject to change by the Kansas Board of Regents and the University of Kansas.

Students in this program are required to have a computer that meets the minimum software and hardware requirements.
All students are required to have a background check completed and the report sent directly to KU from the reporting agency. This one-time fee is paid by the student. Drug screenings may be required when participating at clinical sites. Learn more.
In addition, you will need to provide proof of health insurance coverage prior to enrollment. KU offers a health insurance plan option to students at a reasonable cost. Additional expenses for textbooks, room and board, transportation and other needs should also be considered.

To complete the FAFSA, visit the FAFSA application site and provide the school code for the University of Kansas: 001948.
Students should not wait to be accepted into an academic program to begin the financial aid process. Even if the application deadline for the intended program is later in the year, students are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) by the March 1 priority deadline.
Some financial aid grants and low-interest loans have limited funding. After the priority deadline, any remaining financial aid will be awarded as available.
Even if financial aid will not be requested, students are encouraged to file the FAFSA annually. The FAFSA enables the school to consider all scholarship funds available. The FAFSA must be completed annually.
The total financial aid award package, including scholarships, loans or need-based aid, cannot be finalized until the student's application materials and fee have been received and admission to KU has been completed.
