Applicants who have received a degree or taken courses at a university or college outside the United States must provide information about their foreign transcripts using one of the following two options:

Option 1

Have foreign transcripts evaluated by an education credential evaluation service that uses original transcripts.

• Each foreign transcript must be evaluated by a recognized education credential evaluation service from original transcripts. This evaluation must include:
  • the cumulative GPA
  • verification that the degree earned is equivalent to a US bachelor’s degree or higher
  • a course-by-course evaluation if any our program prerequisite courses were taken at a foreign university
• The applicant must have the education credential evaluation service send directly to the Nurse Anesthesia Education Department one original of the evaluation report of the applicant’s transcripts.
• The applicant needs to provide the Nurse Anesthesia Education Department a photocopy of all foreign transcripts. That is, if the evaluation service has used original transcripts from the foreign university, the Nurse Anesthesia Education Department will accept a photocopy of each foreign transcript. (To our knowledge, Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) and World Education Services (WES) both use official transcripts for their evaluations. If another service is used, evidence must be provided that the evaluation was done from original foreign transcripts.)

Option 2

Have foreign transcripts evaluated by an education credential evaluation service that does not use original transcripts.

• Each foreign transcript must be evaluated by a recognized education credential evaluation service. This evaluation must include:
  • the cumulative GPA
  • verification that the degree earned is equivalent to a US bachelor’s degree or higher
  • a course-by-course evaluation if any of our program prerequisite courses were taken at a foreign university
• The applicant must have the education credential evaluation service send directly to the Nurse Anesthesia Education Department one original of the evaluation report of the applicant’s transcripts.
• The applicant must have one original transcript sent directly to the Nurse Anesthesia Education Department from the foreign university. That is, if the evaluation service has not used original transcripts from the foreign university for their evaluation, the applicant must provide the Nurse Anesthesia Education department with original transcripts sent directly from the foreign university.
