Scholarships
- Ringle/Norton Scholarship – This award is presented to newly admitted audiology students who have demonstrated superior performance in their undergraduate programs. The scholarship may vary from $1,000-$10,000 each year, and there is no tuition reimbursement. Students must maintain good standing in the graduate program. All doctoral applicants will be considered and awards are decided by faculty after reviewing graduate application materials. Awardees will be notified prior to their first semester of enrollment.
- June Miller Scholarship – This award is presented to newly admitted audiology students who have demonstrated outstanding undergraduate performance and rank highly among incoming students in their program. The scholarship may vary from $1,000-$5,000 each year, and there is no tuition reimbursement. Students must maintain good standing in the graduate program. Awards are determined by faculty based on applicant rank upon review of graduate applications. Awardees will be notified prior to their first semester of enrollment.
- Self Scholarship – the Madison and Lila Self Memorial Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that recognizes outstanding undergraduates from KU who will be transitioning into their first year of a master's or doctoral degree program. The scholarship award provides each recipient with $10,000 for their first year, with half applied to each semester.
- Wilber Scholarship – the Allen S. Wilber Scholarship provides funding of up to $10,000 for the study of social sciences or modern languages and literature at the graduate level. Recipients must complete their undergraduate degree at KU and intend to continue on to graduate study in one of the humanities, social sciences, or international and interdisciplinary studies departments, programs, or centers.
Graduate teaching assistantship (GTA) and graduate research assistantship (GRA) positions
A limited number of graduate teaching and graduate research assistant positions are available each year, including a graduate teaching assistant position within the Hearing and Speech Clinic at KU Medical Center. The number and type of these available positions may vary from year to year.

Projects and Traineeships
The number of projects and traineeships may vary from year to year. A project-specific application, additional coursework or previous training may be required for eligibility. A few examples are listed below:
- The Hearing Aid Project – KU Medical Center campus audiology doctoral students in their second semester of the program are eligible to apply. Providing oversight of the inventory, this student manager position sorts donated hearing aids, sends and receives hearing aids for repair, and works with Sertoma staff to run the project. The project provides hands-on experience with hearing aids, and students are able to create their own schedules. The typical time required is 3-5 hours each week. The position runs from May to May and is renewable annually with good performance. To apply, contact Lauren Mann.

Fellowships
To be considered for nomination for these highly competitive fellowships, submit a completed graduate application online by the application deadline. Awards are determined on the basis of merit competition.

- Local and national awards are provided by organizations such as Sertoma, American Speech-language Hearing Association, AMBUCS, Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders and others.

Scholarships, Awards and Financial Aid Support at KU
- The School of Health Professions has scholarship funds available for students based on merit, financial need or both.
- Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry: scholarship opportunities are available to students in KU programs who meet academic and community service requirements.

Work Study
KU and KU Medical Center offer student employment, which could include tuition assistance. For the most current listings, see jobs.ku.edu and careers.kumc.edu. Federal Work Study is a federally subsidized program designed to promote part-time employment of financially eligible students to help avoid excessive debt while in school.

Student Loans
Through the years, KU alumni and friends have made gifts for the purpose of providing low-interest loans to deserving students. These loans are available to students who are currently enrolled at KU in a degree-seeking program. Grade point average and other requirements apply.
