After completing two years of prerequisite coursework, you enter into our two-year program at KU Medical Center, working with cutting-edge technology at a leading academic health center. The two years of prerequisites may be completed at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, or another qualified, regionally accredited institution.

Our program culminates in graduates sitting for the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification examination, an industry-recognized credential offered by the American Health Information Management Association.

The online degree-completion option is designed for adult learners who want to advance their career with a bachelor's degree in health information management. It builds on your experience and training to prepare you to earn the RHIA credential.

KU bachelor’s degree in health information management can fast track your admission to KU's master's degree program in business administration through a relationship between schools offering education in complimentary disciplines.

To participate in this program, you must currently be admitted into KU's bachelor’s degree program in health information management. In spring of your first year in the program, you'll declare your intent. If selected, you may apply to the MBA program during the fall semester of your senior year.

This innovative program has very selective admission open only to those who are already admitted into KU’s on-campus bachelor’s degree program in health information management. By adding a third year to your studies, you may obtain the master's degree in health services administration.
