How to Apply

If you are interested in applying to KU’s graduate certificate in health informatics, please follow the steps below.

Admission to the certificate program in health informatics requires an online application. Students are admitted to begin either the fall or spring semester.

Application Deadlines

We have two application deadlines each year, depending on your desired start date.

  • Fall admission applications are due by June 30.
  • Spring admission applications are due by October 31.

Before You Apply

It will be helpful to prepare the following items to make your online application process as smooth as possible:

  1. $75 nonrefundable application fee.
  2. Official transcript(s) of all college-level coursework. Transcripts should be sent directly from your college or university to the University of Kansas School of Health Professions.
  3. A document clearly stating your detailed personal objectives and career goals. This should outline the applicant's reasons for wanting to pursue graduate education in health informatics, your career objectives, and any other information that would help the admissions committee get to know the applicant.
  4. Contact information for one professional colleague or faculty member who will attest to your ability for scholarly activity and leadership roles and have agreed to provide a reference for you. The university will send your reference an email to complete this online.
  5. An updated resume/curriculum vitae describing your educational and experiential background. Please include information about your education, work experience, leadership, community/organizational involvement, scholarship/research and honors/awards.
