2024 School of Health Professions Hooding and Student Recognition Ceremony

Under beautiful, sunny Kansas skies, the school recognized its Class of 2024 on Saturday, May 11, at Memorial Hall in downtown Kansas City, Kansas. Approximately 250 of our graduates attended this year's event.

Donna Nyght, DNP, CRNA, was honored as this year's recipient of the Stata Norton Distinguished Teaching Award. It recognizes a faculty member for an enthusiastic commitment to teaching, for effectively imparting knowledge to students, and outstanding contributions to their profession.

Audiology student Hannah Brown and respiratory care student Larry Massobos received Akinwuntan Leadership Awards. This honors students who demonstrate excellent leadership in their academic program as well as for significant contributions to their profession and the community.

On Sunday, May 12, dozens of our students gathered with their families on the Lawrence campus for the KU Commencement. Before departing for the long-time KU tradition of walking down the Hill, they enjoyed refreshments and school SWAG at the "Send-off From Dean Akinwuntan" reception held in the KU Memorial Union.
