Professional Background

Dr. Shaun Best is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He currently serves as the Division Director of the Body Imaging Division. Dr. Best has previously served as the Body Imaging Fellowship Director and Peer Learning Liaison for the Body Imaging Division.

Dr. Best received his medical degree and completed his radiology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He completed an abdominal imaging fellowship, with focus on MRI, at the University of California San Diego. His clinical interests include CT and MRI of the abdomen and pelvis and oncologic imaging. He is also active in peer learning/review, quality improvement, and resident and medical student education. Dr. Best has received multiple teaching and clinical awards for resident education and clinical excellence.

Dr. Best is an active member in the Society of Abdominal Radiology.


Research

Overview

Dr. Best's primary research interests are focused on MRI of the liver and prostate. He has presented at the local and national level. He is also interested in resident and medical student education and curriculum development. Dr. Best is also actively involved in peer review/peer learning and has previously served as the lead Peer Learning Liaison for the Body Imaging Division.
