Professional Background

Dr. Ambrose received his B.A. in Chemistry from Auburn University, with the honors of summa cum laude, Dean's Award for academic excellence and three scholarships awarded for academic achievement. He went on to the University of South Alabama College of Medicine where he earned his MD, again with scholarships and honors for academic excellence, and also completed his internship in Internal Medicine. He did his ophthalmology residency here at the University of Kansas where he was selected for Rising Star and Alan W. Riley awards, as well as selected as Chief Resident. Following graduation from KU, he went to Emory University where he completed a one-year Glaucoma fellowship. He returns to KU and KU Eye as a Glaucoma Specialist Faculty.

Dr. Ambrose is our glaucoma specialist in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
