Research Professional Pathways
KU Medical Center has drawn on best practices and trends in the field, including the work of the Joint Task Force for Clinical Trial Competency, to develop the Research Professional Pathways and Competency Domain Framework. This framework defines domains that organize concepts and skills and provide competency levels, aligning research personnel skills and knowledge across campus and providing resources for professional development and growth.
Research Domains
There are eight domains within the competency framework.

Clinical Research Foundations
The Clinical Research Foundations training program is the onboarding and foundational training program for clinical research personnel at KU Medical Center. This program provides comprehensive training across the pimary competency domains to establish a consistent baseline knowledge and skill level for all personnel.
