Required Training
As part of its commitment to providing appropriate training for federal, state and accreditation requirements and University policies, KU Medical Center maintains a Training Policy. The following training is required of research personnel, as outlined in the policy, and provided via the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).
Addresses topics such as research integrity, conflict of interest, data management, responsible authorship and publication, peer review, mentorship and training, and misconduct in research. All KU Medical Center faculty and staff engaged in research are required to complete RCR training.
Though they may not be directly involved in conducting research, administrative staff also play an important role in promoting research integrity. Therefore, staff whose primary responsibilities include the support of research through sponsored projects and research administration are required to complete Responsible Conduct of Research training. Review the University's training policy and related information for specific requirements and guidance.
Adherence to the principles of Good Clinical Practices is universally recognized as a critical requirement to the conduct of research involving human participants. This guidance provides a unified standard to facilitate the acceptance of clinical data by regulatory authorities. Good Clinical Practice training is required for all research personnel engaged in the execution of a clinical trial.
Review the University's training policy and related information for specific requirements and guidance.
Required for all KU Medical Center research personnel, including staff and affiliated staff, who have any role in research involving human participants and/or their protected information. Additional and advanced courses may be required if research involves vulnerable populations.
