Research Development Office
The KU Medical Center Research Development Office encompasses a set of strategic, proactive and capacity-building activities that support individual faculty members and investigative teams to develop and prepare large and complex, strategic, interdisciplinary proposals that have university-wide impact.
Services
The Research Development Office team works alongside departmental and local grants administrative teams to ensure complete and timely proposal submissions to Sponsored Projects Administration. To support proposal development and competitive applications, this office provides expertise and capacity in a broad spectrum of services across the pre-award lifecycle, including:
- Manage overall proposal development
- Provide project team composition input
- Connect teams to reviewers and consultants
- Write, edit and review proposal documents and budgets where appropriate
- Coordinate facility and resource descriptions
- Provide expertise for ancillary and human research documents
- Consult with graphic designers, scientific writers, biostatisticians and others
- Draft letters of support
- Liaise with KU Medical Center leadership and government relations entities
- Setup and manage the projects' file structure and file sharing internally and across institutions
