Research Awards
The University of Kansas Medical Center takes pride in identifying those individuals who deserve special recognition for their research contributions. Honorees from the Schools of Health Professions, Medicine and Nursing as well as those from designated centers and institutes may be recognized with one of three awards:
Chancellors Club Research Award
Reserved for an individual faculty in recognition of exceptional achievements that have had significant and long-term impact on a research field, work that has profoundly affected later development of a field, or a productive record of significant research. The recipient's research is expected to be of national and/or international interest.

Faculty Research Investigator Award
This award is given in recognition of a substantial research program as evidenced by a strong record of publications of data-based research in peer-reviewed journals; presentations and invited lectures at regional, national and/or international meetings; external grant support for research; peer recognition in the form of elected offices in professional societies, memberships on journal editorial boards, journal reviews, study section memberships or consultantships; previous recognition as a recipient of honors and awards and involvement in the mentoring of graduate students and fellows who have published research that the candidate has supervised.
