About the Program
Welcome and thank you for your interest in our Fellowship.
The Geriatric Medicine Fellowship is a comprehensive training program at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Our one-year clinical fellowship is a cooperative effort between the University of Kansas Health System, the Landon Center on Aging, Eastern Kansas VA, Kansas City VA, and the departments of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine.
Fellows gain broad clinical exposure and experience a range of educational and scholarly activities. Highlights include a diverse patient population, balance between service and education, and a focus on leadership and scholastic development. The fellowship provides the education and support to pass the rigorous board examination in Geriatric Medicine, which demonstrates the clinical judgment, skills, and attitudes essential for the delivery of excellent patient care.
In 2024, U.S. News and World Report recognized The University of Kansas Hospital as the Best Hospital in Kansas City (metropolitan area) for the 15th consecutive year and as the Best Hospital in the state of Kansas for the 13th consecutive year. The Geriatrics division was ranked #32 in the country, the 14th time geriatric care at TUHKS has been ranked in the top 50 in the nation.
