Metabolic and Obesity Research Phenotyping (MORPh) Facility Personnel
Michelle Winter, B.S. is the Core Manager of the KUMC Metabolic Facility. She has a Molecular Genetics degree from The University of Kansas and over two decades of laboratory experience, rodent testing, metabolic services and survival surgery. Ms. Winter provides training and support to users of the facility, introductory data analysis, and experimental design.

John P.Thyfault, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology and is the Co-Director of the MORPh. He has expertise in obesity and metabolism with 10 years of experience using the EchoMRI system to measure body composition and Promethion indirect calorimetry system for phenotyping mice and rats. Dr. Thyfault provides assistance in experimental design and data interpretation of projects utilizing the facility.

Paige C. Geiger, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology and is the Co-Director of the MORPh. Dr. Geiger has lead studies related to insulin resistance, fatty liver, obesity, and exercise and also has strong expertise in metabolic assessments.
