Access Core Services

Ken McCarsonKenneth E. McCarson, Ph.D., is the Director PreClinical Models Core of the Kansas IDDRC and Director of the University of Kansas Medical Center Rodent Behavior Facility (RBF) and Disease Model and Assessment Services.  Dr. McCarson is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutics and has used a variety of behavioral testing paradigms in rodents in his NIH-funded projects for many years. As director of the RBF and DMA Services, it is his goal to act as a resource in assisting other investigators in accessing this technology and interpreting data and outcomes with client investigators.

Michelle WinterMichelle Winter, B.S. is the Core Manager of the KUMC RBF and Disease Model and Assessment Services.  She has a Molecular Genetics degree from The University of Kansas and nearly two decades of laboratory experience, rodent behavioral testing and survival surgery.  Ms. Winter provides training and support to users of the rodent behavior facility, data analysis, and experimental design.  Additionally, she performs rodent surgical services and all Core-provided ImmunoAssay services.

Linda EggimannLinda Eggimann, B.A., LAT, RVT is the Rodent Behavioral Specialist of the Biobehavioral  Measurement Core at KUMC. She has an Animal Health degree with over 30 years of animal handling experience including a proficient knowledge of USDA, OLAW, and AALAS regulations. She is facile with the array of behavioral tests offered through the Core and is excited to perform full service behavioral testing for investigators or train staff to conduct the testing independently.
