The field of health care is moving from the inefficient, one-size-fits-all-patients' medicine of today toward the data-driven and customized medicine of tomorrow. We envision a future where diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and prevention are tailored to each patient's unique genetic and phenotypic information.

The vision of the Kansas Institute for Precision Medicine (KIPM) COBRE is to advance education and support discoveries that will transform health care in our region and beyond.

The KIPM COBRE will develop a training program for biomedical researchers entrenched in a precision medicine theme across different disease states by providing the appropriate mentoring, and research infrastructure.

The Kansas Institute for Precision Medicine is funded by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), is fully functional and is already supporting innovative and impactful research at the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas Medical Center.
