TapeStation 4200

The Agilent TapeStation 4200 is utilized by the Genome Sequencing Facility in support of the  Illumina next generation sequencing system and for QC support of investigator prepared nucleic acids. The Tapestation allows for the rapid quantification and qualitation of nucleic acid samples submitted for sequence library preparation or general quality control assessments of nuclei acid isolates. It also serves to monitor check points during library preparation and the final validation of completed sequence libraries.

photo of Covaris S2 The Covaris S2 Ultrasonicator allows for computer controlled fragmentation of nucleic acids using Adaptive Focused Acoustic (AFA) technology. The Covaris S2 is used to prepare fragmented genomic DNA or chromatin with the appropriate size distribution for generating whole genome and ChIP sequencing libraries.

photo of BioanalyzerThe Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 is used to perform a pico level RNA assay with the lowest detection limit for very low yield RNA isolates ( 50 - 5000pg/ul in water). The Bioanalyzer RNA assays are run using the RNA 6000 Pico Chip Kit which can accomodate up to 11 low yield RNA samples per run. Commonly used to assay RNA isolated from serum, plasma, extracellular vesicles and exosomes.
