One of the primary missions of the University of Kansas Medical Center is to discover new treatments and cures to benefit the health of Kansans and beyond. Through the university’s centers and institutes, research and collaboration are fostered to bring forth new knowledge and health care advances. KU Medical Center is one of only 26 universities in the U.S. to be recognized with national designation by the National Institutes of Health for our cancer center, Alzheimer’s disease center and clinical and translational science institute, which offers advanced research abilities and gives students access to unique research opportunities.
