Matt Byerly, M.D., a psychiatrist and prominent mental health interventional researcher and senior investigator for a leading digital program for depression (Thrive),8 is the Associate Dean for Research and a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at KU School of Medicine-Wichita. Dr. Byerly serves as Director of the Program in Digital Mental Health.
Brett Coleman, MBA, one of the creators of the leading digital depression treatment (Thrive), is the President of Waypoint Health Innovations, LLC. He is an expert in digital mental health intervention design, especially elements that enhance engagement, as well as financial aspects of product development and regulatory issues of such tools.
John Greist, M.D., is a psychiatrist and preeminent expert in digital mental health assessment and treatments. He is a Professor Emeritus of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and Research Professor (Volunteer) of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
Eric Hermes, M.D., a psychiatrist and a leading implementation scientist specializing in digital mental health assessment and treatments, is an Associate Professor of the Yale School of Medicine and a Research Associate Professor (Volunteer) of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
Janet Lindow, Ph.D., an experienced mental health resilience/suicide prevention scientist and a national leader in school-based digital mental health screening linked to care, is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
Ryan Spalding, Ph.D., is the University of Kansas Medical Center Vice Chancellor for Community Engagement and previous Director of the KU Center for Telemedicine and Telehealth. His research and administrative interests focus on the use of health technologies to improve health care, particularly in rural or underserved areas.
Janet Williams, Ph.D., ACSW, is a field leader in the development and testing of mental illness diagnostic and screening tools (e.g., DSM, SCID, PHQ-9). She is a Professor Emerita of Clinical Psychiatric Social Work (in Psychiatry and Neurology) at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Research Professor (Volunteer) of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
Shawna Wright, Ph.D., a psychologist and the Director of the KU Center for Telemedicine and Telehealth, oversees the center’s telehealth projects, technical assistance and Project ECHO initiatives with statewide partners. She serves as a telehealth consultant on national and state research and service projects as well as a variety of Kansas coalitions and committees to support equitable health care delivery.
