Committees

The Governor's Behavioral Health Services Planning Council (GBHSPC) Rural & Frontier Subcommittee is a group of mental health stakeholders who collaborate through research to statistically understand and promote accessibility and availability of mental health services in frontier and rural Kansas counties. The subcommittee envisions behavioral health equity for all Kansans where all residents of rural and frontier communities of Kansas will have access to essential, high-quality behavioral health services.

The role of the Kansas Prescription Drug and Opioid Advisory Committee is to develop and implement a coordinated, multi-disciplinary statewide strategic plan to provide a comprehensive approach to the opioid crisis in Kansas. The Kansas Prescription Drug and Opioid Advisory Committee is facilitated by DCCCA, Inc., with joint support from KDHE and the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS). The Kansas Prescription Drug and Opioid Advisory Committee aims to build capacity, mobilize resources, and enhance the quality and availability of data to support data-driven strategic planning at the state and local levels and to implement best practices associated with prescription drug misuse and illicit opioid use across the State.

The Kansas State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup (KS SEOW) is a SAMHSA/CSAP funded initiative to assist states and communities with adopting and implementing a Strategic Prevention Framework. The KS SEOW's mission is to integrate data about the nature and distribution of substance use and mental/emotional/behavioral disorders and related consequences into ongoing assessment, planning, and monitoring decisions at the state and community levels.
