Molecular Regulation of Cell Development and Differentiation

Principal Investigator: Dale R. Abrahamson, Ph.D.

The overall goal of our Center is to establish a thematic, multidisciplinary research group focused on examining and understanding the molecular regulation of cell development and differentiation. This Center, which is funded by NIH National Institute of General Medical Sciences (grant 1P30GM122731), has been renewed for a third 5 year term (07/01/2017 - 06/30/2022). The grant will provide resources to fund pilot projects in developmental biology that will provide foundational data for larger proposals. Funds are also available to increase infrastructure and state-of-the-art research equipment and technologies for the Center's scientists, helping make their work more productive. The Center will continue to enable senior faculty to serve as mentors for junior faculty who work in developmental biology. Overall, this Center will help sustain a stimulating, supportive, and synergistic research environment and develop beginning and senior investigators capable of competing successfully for new research awards.

Funded by NIH grant 9P20GM104936 from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
