Data Storage Sharing & Discovery
Data Storage and Archiving
Research Informatics provides guidance and direction for the data management and sharing plans in regard to the Institutional data repository management services for researchers.
Plan to preserve data in the short term to minimize potential losses (e.g., via accidents), and in the long term so that project stakeholders and others can access, interpret, and use the data in the future. Decide what data to preserve, where to preserve it, and what documentation needs to accompany the data.
Electronic Lab Notebook
LabArchives is an electronic laboratory notebook that can help you organize and manage your research safely and quickly.
Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) - is a secure, cloud based collaborative platform for documentation, organization, shareability and security of your scientific research and data. The digital tool will accelerate research and allow researchers to enjoy the benefits of a centralized, paperless data storage environment. It also aids in lab management, protects Intellectual Property (IP), and offers data management and tracking. At no cost to users’ notebooks owned by someone at KUMC and TUKHS may be shared with staff at other institutions of higher education.

KU Scholar Works (KUSW) is the institutional repository at the University of Kansas, Lawrence and Edwards campuses. Its aim is to centralize and provide persistent and reliable access to the research output, scholarship, and creative works of faculty, academic staff, and students at KU, in addition to housing digital content from the University Archives. KUSW complements traditional publishing outlets by increasing access to the scholarly journal literature produced by KU researchers and by hosting journals edited by KU faculty and departments. As an evolving resource, an ongoing focus of the repository is to capture emerging research driven by the intellectual environment of the campus, in addition to providing access to documents that are of permanent value to the University.
