I received an incredible library of books for my babies during baby showers. Many of the books focused on the mother/child relationship and, while I cherished reading them to my boys, I felt badly for their dad who did not have as many options to choose from in the “I love you” book department. I put on my librarian hat and searched for titles that he could enjoy with our children and found that they do exist, just in smaller supply. I Love You to the Moon and Back is a story that any caregiver can see themselves within. The bear characters and I/You/Our language makes no reference to a particular gender or origin. The sweet feelings behind the words are universal. It is a wonderful celebration of the love between a child and the adult who cares for them.
