Reach Out and Read Kansas City launched into literacy on April 10, 2025, at Grand Street Café, joined by our incredible community of children's literacy champions. Guests heard inspiring words from Keynote Speaker, Amy Pixton, creator of the Indestructibles series, thanks to our partners at Rainy Day Books. Doris D. Holmes Holleman of Vibrant Health, our co-host for the luncheon, highlighted the milestones of our enduring partnership, and longtime supporter Lisa Nickel shared happiness tips, and had the crowd laughing with heartfelt and humorous stories from her journey with Reach Out and Read KC.

Thanks to all who attended and donated! Through the generosity of our supporters, we raised just over $54,000.
