Professional Background

Dr. Romano Delcore, MD, MBA, FACS, is a Professor and the Chair of Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Delcore received his medical and surgical training at the University of Kansas Medical Center where he has been a member of the surgical faculty since he completed training. Dr. Delcore is currently the Chair of the Department of Surgery and previously served as the Director of Medical Education, Residency Program Director and Vice-Chairman of the Department.
His clinical, academic, and research areas of specific interest and expertise include the surgical management of both benign and malignant neoplasms of the exocrine and endocrine pancreas, as well as other pancreatic and biliary surgical diseases and conditions. He is one of the two surgeons who brought Liver Transplantation to the University and remained an active transplant surgeon for fifteen years. At the end of that time, he chose to devote his full-time efforts to the surgical treatment of pancreatic disorders.
Dr. Delcore strives to provide compassionate, state of the art, quality care to patients with pancreatic and biliary disorders through a comprehensive and multidisciplinary team approach.
