Professional Background

Dr. Paul Rotert joined the KU Family Medicine Faculty in 2016 after completing his Residency, Academic Career Fellowship, and Master in Public Health at the University of Illinois - Chicago. He practices full spectrum Family Medicine including outpatient, inpatient, obstetrics, and procedures. He also provides care for individuals living with HIV at KU/ KC CARE and leads PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV prevention) efforts within his department. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as one of the Associate Program Directors for the Family Medicine Residency program and values the opportunity to shape future generations of Family Medicine physicians. Within the Residency program, he leads the Clinical Competency Committee, Resident Advisor Program, Morning Report, Global Health Certificate Program and co-chairs the Resident Wellness Committee. His teaching and research interests include sexual health, PrEP, and HIV care.
