Professional Background

Prasanna Eswaradass, M.D., DM, is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a vascular neurologist at The University of Kansas Health System.

Dr. Eswaradass joined KU after completing a neurology residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, including spending one year as chief resident. He also completed an internal medicine residency and a neurology residency at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, and PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore, respectively, from India before doing a stroke fellowship at Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Canada. Dr. Eswaradass earned his medical degree from Coimbatore Medical College, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, India.

Dr. Eswaradass’ clinical interests include evaluation and management of acute stroke, and his research interests are identifying imaging predictors of stroke outcome, pathophysiology of carotid webs and hyperacute imaging in stroke. An avid researcher, he has 41 peer-reviewed publications and four book chapters to his credit along with nearly 20 national and international research posters. He has a keen interest in educating medical students and residents. He has delivered multiple lectures including university grand rounds.

In addition to earning membership into the Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Dr. Eswaradass’ professional memberships include the American Academy of Neurology, Indian Academy of Neurology, Tamil Nadu Association of Neurology and the Indian Medical Association. He was awarded Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK) by the Royal College of Physicians of the UK. Dr. Eswaradass was also a visiting fellow in National University of Singapore for TCD (Transcranial Doppler) training.
