Virtual International Educational Experiences

While 2020 has brought the suspension of in-person International Educational Experiences (IEE's), the Office of International Programs is pleased to share the opportunity for VIRTUAL IEE's!

Our first new partner, Child Family Health International (CFHI), provides Virtual Global Health Electives with the unique opportunity to explore global and public health issues broadly, highlighting how health systems around the world deliver healthcare in a variety of diverse environments, exploring cultural interplays in urban and rural areas, and incorporating indigenous healing practices. Students learn how communities are addressing their most pressing health challenges, including chronic disease, maternal-child health, infectious disease, and reproductive health, all while gaining insights into the public health realities of the region. The internship is enriched with cross-cultural assessment and interaction tools, and with carefully planned cultural activities that allow participants to experience the rich diversity of CFHI's global partner communities.
Electives available for students in Public Health, Nursing, Allied Health, Masters Programs, and Medicine.
Visit their website for more information on the Virtual Global Health Electives.

Our second new partner, The Virtual Mojo, offers personalized virtual research experiences in India. India is one of the world's fastest growing economies with a population of 1.38 billion... Healthcare has become one of India's largest sectors, both in terms of revenue and employment. India's medical tourism market is growing at 18% year over year, and its competitive advantage lies in its large pool of well-trained medical professionals. India is also cost competitive compared to its peers in Asia and Western countries. You will have interesting research opportunities in both traditional (including Yoga and Ayurveda) and modern medicine & healthcare!
Visit their website for more information on the Virtual Research Opportunities.

We are also pleased to let you know OIP was able to secure funding to cover the cost of the Virtual IEE's for 2021. There will be no cost for students to participate! For 2022 and beyond, students are encouraged to individually apply for an OIP award.

Additionally, these opportunities count towards completing the Global Scholars Distinction Program.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please complete the REDCap submission.
