Nate graduated from North Dakota State University with his undergraduate degree (Bachelor in the Science of Nursing). His Master's in the Science of Nursing Degree is from Fort Hays State University; focused in the Nurse Educator tract.
Nate's clinical experience is varied in the areas the Pediatric Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Newborn Nursery, and General Pediatric Unit. In the health system setting, he serves as an executive liaison for the Experience The University of Kansas Health System.
As an educator he has worked in simulation, Basic Assessment and Clinical Skills, Pharmacology, and as a clinical site preceptor for junior and senior students. In 2020, he was selected as a Daisy Award Winner in the category of Extraordinary Nursing Faculty. This award speaks to his personal mission of working directly with the students to overcome challenges in life and school as they work towards graduation.
