Professional Background

When working with students and residents, my goal is to provide an environment where each learner can develop their own practice style that is built on a foundation of evidence-based medicine. I believe that to be a excellent clinician, one must effectively communicate with patients and healthcare staff, consistently read to expand their medical knowledge, and incorporate evidence-based medicine into clinical decision making that is patient-centered.

I spend eight weeks of clinical time per year on the academic services with residents and 3rd year medical students. Additional teaching is provided to 4th year medical students on the direct care services during their sub-I rotations.
