Mass Spectrometry/Proteomics Core Laboratory

Welcome to the KUMC Mass Spectrometry/Proteomics Core Laboratory (MSPCL). The mission of the MSPCL is to provide access to mass spectrometry based proteomics applications. The MSPC Laboratory is part of the KIDDRC and is located in room 1058, Hemenway Life Sciences Innovation Center (HLSIC).

Since opening in 2004, our team continues to specialize at interfacing with researchers to customize mass spectrometry designs that fit their individual needs. Although we welcome general proteomics evaluations and protein identification designs, we also have extensive experience with top end mass spectrometry applications, such quantitation techniques, hydrogen/deuterium exchange, and oxidative footprinting. We have recently updated our equipment to include an Orbitrap Fusion Lumos (ThermoFisher Scientific), enhancing both our sample throughput and sensitivity. We look forward to working with both researchers from our KUMC family, and researchers that are not associated with our campus.

Due to the recent oubreak of the coronavirus COVID-19, access to the MSPC is restricted. No visitors are allowed.

Similarly, and until new notice, visits to the ofices of Dr Artigues or Dr. Villar are not allowed. If you are in need of a direct conversation, please request a phone, skype, facetime or zoom meeting.

Sample delivery: during working hours there will be a table ouside the lab to deposit them. Please send an e-mail with date and approximate time of delivery.

To start a new project or to request more information, please contact Dr. Artigues or Dr. Villar
