Dr. Matthew Smith is a member of the Mid-Continent Anesthesiology Chartered group located at Wesley Medical Center and Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital.
Dr. Smith completed medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine-Bradenton in Bradenton, Florida in 2017. Following medical school, Dr. Smith completed his residency training in anesthesiology at the University of Kanas School of Medicine-Wichita. He has worked as an anesthesiologist focusing on obstetric anesthesia care with Mid-Continent Anesthesiology, Chartered at Wesley Medical Center and Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital since 2021. He has been a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita Anesthesiology Residency Program since 2023.
Dr. Smith grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, where the beauty and accessibility of the natural surroundings fostered a love of the outdoors in the form of hiking, camping, lake activities, and sports. In college, this led to a passion for healthy living and personal fitness as he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science, Sports Medicine at Colorado State University.
Dr. Smith now lives in Wichita with his wife and four children. Amid the busyness of family life, he still finds time to pursue passions in faith, fitness, and automotive mechanics.
