Professional Background

Dr. Mark Reintjes, MD, FACS, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Transplantation and HPB Surgery Division at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Reintjes completed his undergraduate and medical school at the University of Virginia. He completed his general surgery training at Loyola University Chicago, and he completed his Transplant Fellowship at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Reintjes joined our faculty in 2015. He has experience in all aspects of organ transplantation with a specialty in kidney transplantation and solid organ procurement. He is the lead organ procurement surgeon for the Center for Transplantation at the University of Kansas. He has successfully recovered 4800 deceased donor kidneys, livers, and pancreata, contributing greatly to the success of the Center for Transplantation at the University of Kansas.

He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, and the Midwest Surgical Association.
