Professional Background

A Kansas City native, I graduated from the University of Rochester in upstate NY in 2004 knowing I wanted to treat all aspects of children's health. I then completed the University of Kentucky Triple Board program in 2009, becoming board eligible in pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child psychiatry. Returning to Kansas City, I worked as the medical director of the Wyandot Center. I now hold board certification in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry.

In 2015 I joined the Department of Psychiatry as medical director of Marillac, the inpatient child psychiatry hospital for the University of Kansas Health System. Over the past five years Marillac has increased its bed capacity, developed Insights, a specialized suicide prevention unit.
