Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences

Professional Background

A Kansas City native, I graduated from the University of Rochester in upstate NY in 2004 knowing I wanted to treat all aspects of children's health. I then completed the University of Kentucky Triple Board program in 2009, becoming board eligible in pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child psychiatry. Returning to Kansas City, I worked as the medical director of the Wyandot Center.

In 2015 I joined the Department of Psychiatry at KU as medical director of Marillac, the inpatient child psychiatry hospital. Over the past five years Marillac has increased its bed capacity, developed Insights, a specialized suicide prevention unit, and has fully integrated within the KU health system.
