Professional Background

Dr. Carroll attended Miami University (Ohio) where he focused on pre medical studies with a minor in neuroscience while participating on the Men's NCAA division 1 Swimming and Diving team. He then attended American University of the Caribbean for his medical degree and then moved to Kansas City for his internship in Internal Medicine, residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and fellowship in Interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine all at University of Kansas Medical Center. He signed on at University of Kansas Health System as an Assistant Professor of clinical medicine.

Overview

Dr. Carroll's research focus is geared toward prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in all people with a focus on back pain. He served as managing editor to a popular Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation text book, "Principles of Rehabilitation Medicine". He has done research reviewing safety of open water swimming conditions.
