Dr. Zheng is a member of the Zheng Laboratory. He earned his PhD, Marine Life Science, from Hokkaido University, Japan. Dr. Zheng joined the University of Kansas Medical Center, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine as Research Assistant Professor in July 2020.

My research interests involve elucidation of the disease mechanism of Thrombotic Microangiopathy (TMA), a group of rare yet life-threatening thrombotic disorders, and development of new therapeutics in the animal models of TMA. Using the zebrafish and mouse models, my current work focuses on the identification and characterization of genetic factors that modulate the pathogenesis of TMA, and elucidation of the role of environmental factors that may act as disease modifiers.
