Professional Background

A KU alumna, Laurie Steen, OTD, OTR/L, CEAS I, CLT-LANA, DRS, is a clinical assistant professor in the KU Department of Occupational Therapy Education and also serves as director of the post-professional doctoral program in occupational therapy. She joined the faculty at KU Medical Center in February 2020 and teaches the course functional anatomy and kinesiology for occupational performance as well as additional content related to physical conditions, assessment and intervention.

Steen brings more than 20 years of clinical practice experience working in acute care and outpatient rehabilitation settings and holds specialty practice certifications in both ergonomics and lymphedema. At KU Medical Center, her faculty practice includes working as a driving rehabilitation specialist in the Driving and Mobility Services Clinic and as one of the faculty directors of the JaySTART Clinic.
