Professional Background

Lindy Landzaat, DO, FAAHPM is an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She graduated medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, completed Internal Medicine Residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in St. Louis MO, and finished fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) at Harvard University. Dr. Landzaat has practiced full time Hospice and Palliative Medicine for over a decade and served as the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Director for 8 years. She has been recognized with AAHPM’s “40 under 40” inspirational leader award. Leadership roles in medical education included vice-chairing AAHPM’s HPM Entrustable Professional Activities development, co-chairing Curricular Milestones development, and co-chairing ACGME’s first Hospice and Palliative Medicine-specific Reporting Milestones development. Her career goal is to offer high quality, patient-centered palliative care for patients and their families dealing with serious illness while training the next generation of HPM providers to do the same.
