Professional Background

Lindsey Heidrick, SLPD, CCC-SLP, is a clinical assistant professor and clinic director in the Department of Hearing and Speech at the University of Kansas Medical Center. For KU's speech-language pathology doctoral degree program, she teaches courses in professional issues, advanced clinical practice, and independent study.

Academic Background
Heidrick earned a clinical doctorate in speech-language pathology from the University of Kansas in 2018 and a master's degree in speech-language pathology from KU in 2004. Her bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders, with a second major in gerontology, was awarded by Kansas State University in 2002.

Professional Background
Having served as a speech-language pathologist for more than fifteen years, Heidrick brings extensive clinical experience to the department. She is currently engaged in clinical work at the University of Kansas Health System focusing primarily in neurodegenerative disease.

She also participates on various multidisciplinary health care teams including the ALS, MDA, and PD teams. Heidrick previously served as a clinician for employers such as Children's Center for the Visually Impaired, Quantum Health Professionals, KM Pediatric Therapy Inc., and Bright Audiology and Speech.

Actively involved in local endeavors, Heidrick participates in the Walk to Defeat ALS, serves as an advisory board member for the Parkinson's Foundation, volunteers at the annual KU Parkinson's Symposium, and serves as volunteer panelist for Myotonic Dystrophy Day. She is also active on several committees within the department.

In 2022, Heidrick was recognized as 2022 Speech-language Pathologist of the Year by the Kansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
