Dr. Berenbom is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University and trained at Barnes Hospital at Washington University. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Dr. Berenbom’s professional career began in 1983. He did the first ICD in this region in 1986. He also did the first radiofrequency ablation in this region in 1991.
Dr. Berenbom served as President of Mid America Cardiology from 1997 to 1999, predecessor to the KU Cardiology Department. He also served as the Kansas American College of Cardiology Governor from 2005 to 2008.
Dr. Berenbom's interest in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy lead to formalization of our program as an HCMA recognized Center of Excellence.
