Professional Background

Dr. Larson is a Breast Surgical Oncologist and Associate Professor of Surgery. Dr. Larson is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and has earned both FACS and FSSO designations. She is the current Program Director for the SSO-Approved Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship, Co-Direct for Clinical Operations for the Multidisciplinary Breast Program at KU Cancer Center, and American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Cancer (CoC) State Chair. She is involved in multiple national committees via ACS CoC and AJCC, Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), and American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS).

Dr. Larson's practice is completely dedicated to breast surgical oncology patients. She has extensive training in advanced surgical techniques, including breast conservation, oncoplastic surgery, nipple- and skin-sparing mastectomy, and advanced axillary surgical approaches including offering immediate lymphatic reconstruction, in addition to working with uncommon breast malignancies such as malignant phyllodes, breast angiosarcoma, and male breast cancer.
