Dr. Hessel obtained her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2014. She completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Kansas in 2019 and was boarded in General Surgery in 2020. She completed Vascular Surgery fellowship at The Ohio State University in June 2021.

Dr. Hessel has multiple research interests including: limb salvage with multidisciplinary management, surveillance and treatment of aortic aneurysms, perioperative anticoagulation management, and disparities in access to vascular care.
