Jordan Siscel, M.D.
Dr. Jordan Siscel is an Assistant Professor within the Anesthesiology and Critical Care Division at the University of Kansas Health System where he serves as the Medical Director of the Post-anesthesia Care Unit. In this position, he has moved towards optimization of the patient experience through guideline-based care, improvements in resident education and advancement of diagnosis/treatment modalities like point-of-care ultrasound.
Dr. Siscel graduated from University of Missouri-Kansas City Medical School in 2013 and started his career at KU as a resident in Anesthesiology from 2013-2017. He took a year away to go to University of Colorado to complete his fellowship in Critical Care before coming back to KU as clinical faculty and work within the Cardiothoracic, Cardiac and Neuro ICU’s. With his familiarity with the heath system, Dr. Siscel has taken a diverse range of clinical activities including being apart of the acute pain and regional services and working with the electronic medical record optimization team.
Clinical Interests include optimization of patient care within the critical care and preoperative settings including the continued utility of point-of-care ultrasound and has partnered on projects to advancement the utility of the modality with medical student, resident and faculty learning opportunities including co-leading Medical Student Student Enrichment Week for POCUS, Teaching at POCUS conference for the KU Anesthesia Residents, helping plan the POCUS Course at KU Symposium and being a clinical instructor at the Perioperative POCUS Workshop at the ASA Conference in 2019.
