Professional Background

Dr. Peterson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She specializes in breast imaging, including screening mammography, contrast-enhanced mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and breast biopsy and localization procedures.

Dr. Peterson received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She also completed Diagnostic Radiology residency and Breast Imaging fellowship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. After fellowship, she served as an Assistant Professor in Breast andamp; Women’s Imaging at Prentice Women’s Hospital, Northwestern University in Chicago, IL before to returning to Kansas City. Her research interests include high-risk screening and breast MRI.
