Professional Background

Dr. Janak Patel is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2019. During his 4 years of Medical School, Dr. Patel obtained his MBA in Healthcare Leadership from the Helzberg School of Management. After completing residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Dr. Patel completed fellowship in ED Administration and Operations.

Dr. Patel currently is interested in finding innovative solutions to improve ED throughput while maintaining exceptional patient care. In addition, Dr. Patel has additional interest in resident education. When he is not working, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling with his wife, spending time outdoors, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs!
