Dr. James Nicholson retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service. Prior to attending medical school, he was an infantry officer in the 101st Airborne Division. Subsequent assignments following board certification in Family Medicine include chief medical officer for the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and staff physician with the White House Medical Unit. Dr. Nicholson's duties spanned 28 countries and included four combat deployments between both Iraq and Afghanistan. Fellowship trained and board-certified in Sports Medicine, Dr. Nicholson's professional interests also include austere and travel medicine, tropical diseases, and public health.
