Professional Background

Jennifer Bendure, DNP, CRNA, currently serves as clinical assistant professor for the Department of Nurse Anesthesia Education at KU Medical Center. She is responsible for both didactic and clinical instruction for nurse anesthesia doctoral students at all levels.

Academic Background
Bendure graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Kansas, receiving a clinical excellence award, in 2010. In 2016, she earned a doctoral degree in nursing practice from the University of Kansas.

Active within various professional organizations, Bendure is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, the Kansas Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and Sigma Theta Tau International. She has served on the advanced practice registered nurse committee through the Kansas Board of Nursing and is a current board member for the Kansas Nurse Assistance Program.

Clinical and Academic Focus
A co-instructor in KU's nurse anesthesia practice curriculum, Bendure teaches courses in advanced pathophysiology, advanced theory, informatics and leadership. She partakes in simulation experiences throughout the curriculum, including central venous catheter placement. While practicing in various clinical areas, Bendure's interests include women’s reproductive medicine, pediatrics and outpatient surgery at KU MedWest Surgery Center.

Research Overview
Bendure’s areas of research interest include pediatric anesthesia, general surgery and provider health/wellness.
