John D. Leever, MD

Professional Background

Dr. Leever is the Neuroradiology Fellowship Program Director, Epilepsy Imaging Director, and an associate professor of radiology and neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Dr. Leever received his medical degree and completed his radiology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He completed a neuroradiology fellowship at Georgetown University in Washington, DC and he obtained his certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in neuroradiology from the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Leever is a passionate educator and provides a comprehensive neuroimaging curriculum for the radiology and neurology residents as well as the neuroradiology, anesthesia, rhinology and epileptology fellows at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He has been twice awarded the Annual Norman Martin Teaching Award for the most outstanding educator in the department of radiology.



Dr. Leever has authored and published book chapters and journal articles in all areas of neuroimaging including the brain, spine, head, and neck. He has also been involved as a sub-investigator in numerous Grants primarily involving Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease.
