Professional Background

Jennifer Jones, MLS(ASCP)cm, leads undergraduate courses in clinical hematology in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at KU Medical Center. As clinical instructor, Jones also teaches student laboratory and professional development in the bachelor's degree program in clinical laboratory science.

Jones has been recognized as an outstanding educator, having received multiple departmental awards as well as the Stata Norton Distinguished Teaching Award, one of the school's highest levels of recognition for excellence in education. She serves as class advisor for first- and second-year students, serves on admissions and scholarship committees, and coordinates the clinical rotations for clinical laboratory science undergraduate students.

Academic Background
In 1981, Jones earned a bachelor's degree in zoology from Duke University. Two years later, she obtained a medical technologist certificate from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists through the University of Kansas.
